    The Keys to My Heart

    The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken
    Little
to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little
tried to warn the farmer. She read, ".... and so Chicken Little went up
to the farmer and said, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!"

The teacher paused then asked the class, "And what do you think that
    farmer said?"

One little girl raised her hand and said, "I think he said: 'Holy Shit!
    A talking chicken!'"

The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

A little boy was doing his math homework. He said to himself, "Two
plus five, that son of a bi_ch is seven. Three plus six, that son of a
    bi_ch is nine...."

His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, "What are you doing?"

The little boy answered, "I'm doing my math homework, Mom."

"And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?" the mother asked.

    "Yes," he answered.

Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, "What are you
    teaching my son in math?"

The teacher replied, "Right now, we are learning addition."

The mother asked, "And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that
son of a bi_ch is four?"

After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered, "What I taught them
was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four."

    I'm not a teenager anymore!
Probably no other birthday could compare to the Sweetheart Dance on my 18th birthday, but this one was pretty awesome! I got to celebrate it with my friends/roommates: Kelsey & Sam, Jenn & Joel, Joe, Jess and Andrea. Even my roommate from last year who transfered up to Grand Forks drove down to Moorhead! We have SO many sweet things in our apartment now. I had made a giant chocolate chip cookie, but Jess surprised me by making a cake. Monday, Kelsey had to make bars for class and I brought the children at the daycare cup-cakes. Oh yeah- and I got a free slice of pie (that I took home with me) from Perkins. After dinner (of pizza and Korean egg rolls) and cake & ice cream- Andrea and I played cards then shot pool as usual. We played pool from 6:45-10:00! Around 10:45pm we met up with Shera and Anna at Perkins. Didn't get back until midnight. I told myself not to get drunk at Perkins..(just wait until next year...j/k). Then I had class at 8:00am, this morning! A very fun day!!

I realized that I don't have time for my other hobbies...the only hobby I get to do on a regular basis and my roommates probably thing I'm obsessed with- rock climbing! I do have other hobbies...My college life consists of: sleep, eating, going to class, studying, doing homework, talking online, hanging out, and working/rock climbing. A very exciting life! *wink wink

    New Years Eve
On the eve of 2005, I'm going to take the time now to reflect on the past year (can't possibly write everything that happened, but some of the ones that really stick out)

~Getting a cell phone for my birthday
    ~SPAM museum over spring break
~planning Jordan's surprise birthday party (the big 2-1)
    ~Swing Dancing and meeting Henry
~Purchasing a used car for me to bring to college
    ~starting my sophomore year
~starting a new job at the YMCA- climbing wall
    ~met Kevin & hung out
~moving into the apartments on campus
~moving my grandmother into a nursing home

For the most part it's been a great year! I can't wait for 2005. I see 2005 as a time to start over on some aspects of my life, a fresh start and a new beginning. Yay!

OOPs, it's been a while since I've updated this thing. This semseter has gone really, really fast (I'm not complaining about that). I can't believe i have one week left of classes then finals. My professors this semester have been awesome, so I hope next semseter's professors will be awesome as well. I saw the movie, The Polar Express last Wednesday with my family, that was such a great movie. It certainly put me into a christmas-y mood...the funny thing was, is that the next day was Thanksgiving. Wrong holiday! Oh well...I would love to see that movie again. Speaking of movies, I also want to see The Incredibles. My 6 year old cousin didn't like that movie because it was too scary for him. He had never seen so much action in a cartoon before. Poor guy! I got to climb a lot this past weekend at work, yay! I'm going to have to take you all on a rock climbing adventure sometime...either at Prairie Walls or outdoor (in the spring). I'm taking Kevin climbing for the first time on Wednesday- it should be fun! =) I'll have to take a picture of us in our very sexy harnesses...lol, right...anyways--I'm really looking forward to winter break. I emailed my HyVee supervisor the other day and I'm going to be work at HyVee over break. This will probably be my last time working there because I am NOT going to be working there this summer. I know, that's what I said last year, but this year I mean, I can't stand to work there another summer. Alright, I'm off to class now...more later...

    Weekend parties
Whew! Time to update...got up early this morning to go swim laps, I think I'll start making a habit of doing that- I'm always up by that time anyways, and when I do get up that early I usually spend it on-line, sitting on my butt! LOL, going home this weekend and possibly next weekend as well. This weekend to see my family, and next weekend my parent's won't be home (party at my house), so I'd come home to see my friends. Friends, who I probably won't see until Christmas break! I will have to work over Thanksgiving break, it was either work over Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years Eve. I cannot work over christmas break because the resident halls are closed here, so I chose Thanksgiving to work. Looks like no partying for me over Thanksgiving- not that I planned on doing that much anyways, but it would be fun to see everyone! But at least one of my friends here, has to stay in Moorhead too over Thanksgiving, so I won't be alone! If any of ya'll are home either this weekend or next weekend, call me and we'll hang-out! Yay! Sorry this entry isn't more exciting!

    Leaves
Oops, it's been a while since I've updated. Midterms are technically this week, but I had all of my tests/presentations to do last week. A nice week to "relax". Fall Breather is on Friday, which means no classes. I'm going home for the first time since August, it'll be so nice to sleep in my bed at home! Yay! In other news, my beta fish died. I had him for 1 year and 2 months. It was either the change in the water (tap vs. spring), temperature difference or old age. I think I'll get a new one within the next week or so. I have the tank, water, food and solution, so why not buy a new one?! I've never had a fish last this long! It's scary how fast this semester is going! Last year the first semester seemed to go on forever, but this one is going fast. Slow down! LOL

From working at the Y, I've met a lot of new people. Everyone I've worked with so far is so nice! I've decided that I want to learn how to skateboard. I probably don't have the coordination and I"ll be worried about getting hurt. But the skatepark is right next to the climbing wall and it's fun watching people do tricks! There's this guy, Kevin who worked at HyVee with me (Kevin Bar at customer service) anyways- I hadn't seen him here on campus yet this year, but I knew he was coming up here. I actually saw him the other day and we ate dinner together. He's a trumpet player in the NDSU marching band and knows Nick Truxal, so that's cool! Hope you all are well! Bye!

    A Wedding Story
The wedding was fantastic! I took a lot of pictures, so if any of you want to see them, I'd be happy to show them off. It was a very nice wedding- on the Harriet Bishop paddleboat in St. Paul. During the actual wedding ceremony we were tied to the dock. The ceremony was causal (not the traditional wedding), but it was so beautiful. It was when my uncle was saying his vows that I just lost it...I was so happy for them that I cried! I've never cried at a wedding before. These were happy tears...I was sitting next to my mother and I could hear her sniffling too. It was a good thing that my mascara was water-proof or else I would have had dark spots around my eyes! Haha After the ceremony, we all shook the bride & groom's hand and went down to the middle deck to get drinks. The captain blew the whistle and we were off! Halfway through we had a buffet style lunch. Very yummy! There were three little kids on the boat (Noah (my cousin) and two other of his friends). So my sister and I basically chased them around and made sure they didn't fall over-board the whole time we were on the boat. It was awesome! My uncle Boris was incharge of orca watching...he claims he did see one. We all think it was a stick, but it's more interesting to say that you saw an orca on the waters of the Mississippi.

The weather was perfect. As we were paddling around, the sun was shining and the wind was blowing to keep us from getting too hot. I think I got a little tan too! My aunt and uncle from Washington DC came to the wedding, it was nice to see them. Right now, we have 8 people staying at my grandparents house. The only time we're all together like this is Christmas. Maybe what I'll do is post the pictures from the wedding on my .mac web-page within the next week. Now after a family enriched weekend I'm not ready to head back to school. But I keep telling myself that if I don't go to college I'll have to stay, working at the climbing wall forever. The climbing wall where they pay minimum wage...good thing to remember!

    A laid back weeekend
It's Monday again! Worked Sunday from 12:00pm to 10:00pm with a two hour break. Saturday played cards in the lounge with a couple of people- I love playing spoons and BS. Yay for cards! =) Next time I go on a walk near the red river, I'll have to remmeber to bring my camera. It's so pretty! I can't wait until the leaves change, that's my favorite part about fall. In about a half hour I'm going on a field trip with my biology class to study birds. Chirp, chrip!

    Happy Friday!
It's so nice having no classes on Fridays. I live for Fridays! My weekends basically start Thursday evening. However, most of the day is spent on doing homework. It stinks when you have a chapter to read in the textbook and the book isn't interesting. You start reading it and think, "man, I'm gonna have to read one paragraph then take a break". Thank goodness only two of my textbooks are like that. When I read, I need some background noise (not a lot). This is probably why I can't stand studying in the library. But go figure, the only wireless internet is in the library! Like Piscator (Jordan) said in his last entry...AIM is a good escape from homework and a good break. Especially if the conversations are weird and crazy. I find the best conversations don't happen during the day, but in the late evening.

I might be going to an open ballroom dance on Saturday night. I'm a little un-easy about going by myself, but we'll see. I work tonight and Sunday, should be fun! I bought some biking gloves to help me belay. My hands are worn out by the end of a shift because of all of the rope and skin contact. So, hopefully the gloves will work.

I've been getting involved on campus like I wanted to. I'm involved in teh AAA (asian american association), SCEC (student council for exceptional children), VV (Volunteer visions), and hopefully Habitiat for Humanity. Now, trying to balance doing homework, being involved in community service, going to the meetings, eating right and excersicing...it's a lot of work! But it's fun. Until next time...

    Labor Day weekend
I'm writing to you now from the twin cities. I've been at my grandparents house since Friday. It feels like summer again, yet my "summer" weekend will be over soon, heading back up to Moorhead on Monday early in the morning. Yesterday my family and my cousins and their family went to the Mill City Muesum in Minneapolis. We ate dinner at a Thai restaurant, Swadtee or something like that (near the Old Spagetti Factory). It was so good! We usually do an annual camping trip with this family, but we didn't do one this year, so it was fun just to spend time with them. Watched Mr. Holland's Opus last night with my family and grandma. I haven't seen that movie in forever, but I really like that movie a lot. Maybe I'll buy it if I see it for cheap! Today I'm off to the Mall of America...why go to the mall of america when I'm a poor college student? Oh well...hehe

    Livejournal Rocks!
I think I'm gonna be using this journal thing instead of diaryland. Diaryland doesn't have nearly as many options as this does. So yeah...I'll be updating this and writing to the community people as well. I finally found a picture to my liking...I'm a huge Sanrio fan. :-)

    Carpe Diem
Wow, it's been a tiring day! I'm so tired right now...the first day of class and I'm exhausted, this is not a good sign for the rest of the year! Haha Anways, why am I so tired (besides the obvious fact of classes starting), well, let me tell you...I actually have a story for you all! Yay! Most of you know that I moved into college on Saturday. Which, btw, went well I'm all moved in and settled in. I parked my car in one of the best parking lots for the resident halls. Saturday I ran over to the parking permit office to find out that the office is only open Monday thru Friday. And Monday was the first day that campus security started ticketing cars without parking permits. I thought, hmm...I wonder if this will be a problem, Monday morning I can get my permit and Monday morning they start ticketing people without permits...hmmm. The parking permits office opened at 8:30 this morning, I was in like at 8:15 and got my parking permit by 8:25. I had my first class at 9:00, so I had time to run back to my car. My car, however, was sitting in the same place I left it, but with a pretty red piece of paper stuck to the windshield wipers. Yes, I did indeed get a parking violation. I heard that campus security was a little more nicer on Monday and I wouldn't have to pay the $10 fine for not having a parking permit. Well, I ran over to the Campus Security Office across campus to find that I had to go back to where the parking permit (pp) offices were on the other side of campus. Run over to the pp office and they were no help. I read the back of my ticket again and it said taht I could go on-line and appeal the ticket, so I filled out the information about the ticket and my name, etc. but I needed my new permit #, so I had to run to my car and finally I was able to write an appeal and send it on-line. Weew! It was an exciting day...my first ever parking violation! Haha So yeah, there's my exciting story for you all...hope you enjoyed it, thanks for reading!

Alright, sorry enough sarcasm...not sure where I got that from, but oh well! I had my explorer BIO class today, ballroom dancing (yay), band and just got done with Education Psychology. I'm really excited for all of these classes. I found this flyer about swing dance lessons. They are $45 for a 5 week session of dancing, it's Sunday evenings at 7:30. Do you think I should do it? they have a "singles" list and pair you up with someone that you would be compatible with. However, I'm rather nervous about that because (no offense to the old guys) but I don't want to be dancing with an old man whom I don't know for 5 weeks. It would be fun to dance with someone my own age, though. I am already doing ballroom dancing, maybe that's enough dance for one semester. I'll have to ponder that...I'll let you know what I come up with. What do you all think? Hehe, I hate making decisions!

Tomorrow I'm going to meet with the climbing gym owner in Fargo because I'm going to be working at the climbing gym during the year. I'm so excited, but I haven't been there before, so it's gonna be an adventure! Anyways...I think I've written my share! You know me, I could go on for days! I miss you all and love you lots. I have a pic of every one of you hanging up on my wall, don't worry you look great! Take care!
